The Content
This “blog” introduces currencies through the lens of a “historian” (term used very loosely). From the U.S. dollar, to the Euro, to the Yen, and (maybe) even old and extinct currencies. This might be useful for anyone who is doing monetary research and wants the help of previous empirical research.
The Author and The Site
This came from approximately five months of research into the history of just the U.S. dollar. After the document turned out to be over 80 pages, I realized it wouldn’t have been accepted anywhere, so I turned to blogging. WordPress.com (not .org, they’re different somehow) was… a choice, that’s for sure, but we live, and we learn (i hate this site, worst decision i’ve made this year).
I had a lot of help in both the blog section and the history section from actual professionals in the field, so shout out to them. From my own experiences to me asking for help from specialists, many actually reliable sources of information came together to form this website. For instance, I emailed the Executive Director of the British Chamber of Commerce, or sat at a bank for 2 weeks to observe them. So, it’s not a perfectly trustworth website, but it’s pretty high up there I’d say.
